    Timing of specimen collection: Pre-dose (trough) draw – At steady state concentration.
  • Spec Collect:
    Red top (serum), Lavender top (EDTA), or Green top (sodium or lithium heparin) tube. Mix by inverting tube 8 times.
  • Spec Process:
    Transfer 1 mL serum or plasma to a screw-capped plastic transport tube. (Min: 0.6 mL)

    Interpretive Data:
    Total concentrations for itraconazole and hydroxyitraconazole should not exceed 10 µg/mL. Adverse effects may include nausea, vomiting and rash.
